Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to tune my Roland Piano?

You will never need to tune your Roland Piano, even if you move it regularly, or if the temperature of the room in which the piano is located changes dramatically. More than just a convenience, this important difference between a Roland Piano and an acoustic model will save you literally hundreds of dollars over the life of the instrument.

Does a Roland Digital Piano really sound and feel like an acoustic piano?

From our entry level, right to our top of the line models, Roland digital pianos are able to faithfully recreate the expressive tone, dynamic touch, and subtle nuances of a high end acoustic grand piano.

My daughter is just about to start piano lessons. Do you offer any sort of rental/financing plans for your pianos?

Yes. Roland Pianos can be rented, and you may also finance an outright purchase. Click here to visit our Roland Rentals site, and click here to find out more information about Roland Financing.

I want to hook my Roland Piano up to my computer. How do I do this?

Some Roland Pianos offer a direct single-cable USB connection with your personal computer- no additional components are required. For those Roland Pianos that do not offer a USB connector, a simple USB to MIDI Interface is all that is needed. More information on USB/MIDI Interfaces such as the Edirol UM-1X can be found at www.edirol.com.

I have a Roland KR-7 Digital Piano. How do I play back MIDI files through the piano? They are saved on my computer.

The files on your computer need to be saved in Standard MIDI File (SMF) format to a 3.5 inch Floppy Disk. Simply insert the disk in the floppy disk drive on your KR-7 and follow the steps for song playback outlined on page 69 of your owner’s manual.

Printed owners manuals can be obtained by calling our Parts Dept. at (604)270-6626 ext. 108.
